Which fences caught riders out at Badminton’s Grassroots Championships? [PICTURES]

    • The Mitsubishi Motors Grassroots Championships held at Badminton House immediately before the prestigious four-star event give event riders at the lower levels of the sport the opportunity to perform on one of the biggest stages of the eventing world.

    This year, the BE100 Championship was won by Alexandra Farrar-Fry from West Yorkshire riding Mariam Haque’s six-year-old Grey Finnsky. The combination triumphed on their impressive dressage mark of 27.5 penalties. They were closely followed by Anna Tomlinson riding Moreorless II who finished on a score of 29.4. Third place was occupied by Cathrine Taylor riding Lynn Ferguson’s Lorelei, who finished on 31.5 penalties.

    The course caused problems at a number of different fences. In total 48% of cross-country starters completed the cross-country course with no jumping penalties.
