European Dressage Championships 2025

This year’s European Dressage Championships at Jiva Hill Stables in Crozet, France, will be remembered as a coming of age for Belgium’s new superstars Justin Verboomen and Zonik Plus, who won both the grand prix special and the freestyle. Germany pipped Great Britain to the team gold, with Denmark in bronze.

European Dressage Championships dates

The 2025 European Dressage Championships took place on 26–31 August at Crozet in France. This was the first time France has hosted the dressage Europeans, although it has hosted championship dressage as part of the World Games and Olympics.

The 2025 dressage Europeans took place at Jiva Hill Stables, at the foot of the Jura Mountains near to Geneva on the French/Swiss border, and facing Mont Blanc. Learn more about the local area. European Dressage Championships format

The dressage Europeans included competitions at grand prix, grand prix special and grand prix freestyle to music. Both European teams and individual riders competed for medals, with three sets available. The team medals were awarded after the grand prix, with the first set of individual medals after the grand prix special, and a second set of medals after the grand prix freestyle. The judges for the European Dressage Championships were Raphael Saleh, president (FRA), Maarten van de Heijden (NED), Hans-Christian Matthiesen (DEN), Peter Storr (GBR), Katrina Wüst (GER), Janet Foy (USA) and Thomas Lang (AUT).
