How to make the most of Radio Badminton and enjoy the expert commentary

    This year, you’ll be able to listen to Radio Badminton in a variety of ways – here’s everything you need to know and how to make the most of it.

    How to listen to Radio Badminton live

    At home

    This year, Badminton Plus members will be able to listen to the live broadcast of Radio Badminton via the Badminton Horse Trials app or website.

    At Badminton Horse Trials

    Anyone in the vicinity can tune in for free via the radio, so you’re covered in the car or if you take a portable pocket radio (like this one on Amazon) with you.

    If you don’t have a portable radio, you can pre-book a Radio Badminton e-voucher, which will give you on-site radio access all day. Mobile coverage is not reliable, so don’t rely on being able to listen online if you’re at the event.

    You can listen to Radio Badminton by tuning into 87.7FM if you’re at or near by the event.

    Along with the live broadcast (details below), there will be a daily round-up show available online and via the Badminton Horse Trials app.

    Radio Badminton commentary

    This year, Radio Badminton will once again be hosted by Jo Thoenes and Sam Lloyd. Grand prix dressage rider Bobby Hayler-Wright and top judge Christian de Coulon will provide insight on the first phase, while we’ll hear from event riders Matt Heath, Daisy Berkeley and Nick Gauntlett throughout the cross-country and showjumping.

    We’ll also benefit from the insight of previous Badminton riders Ben Way and Ginny Howe. Ben will be interviewing riders in the mixed zone after their performances, while Ginny will be the roving reporter.
