Founder of equine cooling bandages Equi-N-icE Kay Russell survived the Dragon’s Den and walked out with a £100,000 investment.
Kay Russell from Dorset is behind Equi-N-icE and Physicool— products to cool horses and human’s limbs after strenuous training.
She was approached by the BBC earlier in the year and last night (Wednesday 26 August) she appeared on the BBC Two programme — facing dragons Duncan Bannatyne, James Caan, Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden and Theo Paphitis, looking for investment in her company.
Deborah Meadon invested £100,000 and took a 30 per cent share of Kay’s business.
“It was totally terrifying facing the dragons,” said Kay. “But once I got over the initial nerves it was quite fun, very exhilarating.
“Deborah has horses herself so we had the equestrian connection. I’m very excited to be working with her.
“We now need to sit down and plan what’s next. She’s going to be a great asset, both financially and as a mentor and I’m thrilled with the outcome.
“Theo and Duncan were also complimentary about the products, which was fantastic.”
